A Timeless St. Michael’s Stillwater Catholic Wedding and Oak Glen Golf Course Reception


Cece and Thomas’ wedding day in Stillwater was one of those August days that just felt like a gift — 78 degrees, sunshine, and the kind of calm that set the tone for a truly joyful celebration.


We started the day at Oak Glen Golf Course, where Cece and Thomas shared their first look surrounded by soft greenery and open skies. They wanted to keep things natural and easy, so I guided them through a few relaxed prompts that captured their genuine connection without feeling overly posed. From there, we headed to St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Stillwater, MN for a few quick portraits before the ceremony.

Cece and Thomas had made it clear from the start — they didn’t want to spend hours taking photos. And honestly, I love that. My goal is always to put my couples’ needs first, and if that means keeping portraits short and sweet so you can soak in more of your wedding day, that’s exactly what we’ll do. In just fifteen minutes, we captured everything they needed: laughter, tenderness, and a few frame-worthy moments that perfectly reflected who they are.

Cece’s look was absolutely timeless. Her dress was simple, elegant, and paired perfectly with a cathedral-length veil featuring a stunning blusher — a classic touch I’ve been seeing more of lately (and I’m here for the comeback!). Her bouquet was unlike any I’ve seen this year: long-stemmed flowers of a single variety, wrapped with a rosary she had been making for Thomas since high school. She later gifted it to him — such a meaningful and beautiful detail.

After a reverent Catholic ceremony in Stillwater, the couple and their wedding party hopped on a bus to downtown Stillwater for a quick stop at Green Bridge Coffee Shop — the spot of their very first date. The owner was so touched by their story that he offered them coffee on the house. It was such a sweet full-circle moment and one of my favorite parts of the day.

A Joyful Reception at Oak Glen Golf Course


Back at Oak Glen Golf Course, over 300 guests filled the light-filled reception space for an evening of laughter, love, and lots of glass-clinking (Cece’s favorite wedding tradition!). The room glowed under string lights, and it was so fun to see how much joy surrounded this couple. The speeches had everyone laughing and tearing up in equal measure, and Cece and her dad kicked off the dancing with an upbeat swing dance that got the whole crowd cheering.

The dance floor stayed full all night thanks to Harmony DJ Entertainment, and by the end of the evening, it felt like the perfect reflection of who Cece and Thomas are — warm, joyful, faith-filled, and surrounded by people who love them deeply.
