Hey Friends!

I'm Jess, your upbeat, passionate, sometimes funny photographer. I was born and raised in Nebraska, but I currently live near Minneapolis, Minnesota. My passion for photography started when I began collecting vintage cameras in high school because I thought they “looked artsy and cool”. I fell in love with taking photos because I adore being able to freeze authentic moments of love, beauty, and joy throughout the many stages of life with the click of a button.

What am I like in my day to day life?

I am glad you asked!

I'm just your average goofy, independent, witty, coffee-addicted gal who loves traveling and spending quality time with her people. I love Jesus and have been a practicing Catholic since I was 15. In my free time you will find me kickboxing, reading, planning my next adventure, playing games, or spending time with my hubby and our pup, Fajita. I am always dancing and singing (even if I am bad) and I’m passionate about living life to its fullest and making others around me feel loved and appreciated.

What am I like as a Photographer?

I would describe my photography style as documentary with a slightly warm, true to life, earthy, and somewhat whimsical editing style (like a fairytale). I want to capture the natural little moments that show true love and joy, when you aren’t focused on the camera, but of course there will be time for some formal portraits as well. We will work together to determine what amount of time to dedicate to family, wedding party, and bride/groom portraits depending on your desired outcome for photos and how you would like to spend your wedding day.

Personality was a BIG factor for me when I was choosing my own wedding photographer because I knew I was going to feel extremely uncomfortable in front of the camera. I still do feel awkward when having my own photos taken and it’s immensely helpful to have someone who can help me relax and not focus on the camera. That person is who I strive to be for my clients to make taking photos a fun, carefree experience.

To give you some insight into me, I am super energetic and talkative. I have never met a stranger as my mom would tell me because I can strike up conversations with anyone. I want to be your friend, and I am genuinely interested in your life and getting to know more about you. If you book me, expect lots of chit-chat, laughs, goofiness, and DEFINITELY expect me to be dancing along with you as I take your reception party photos.
